PAS 2024 Meeting Dates

Slight revision - we are meeting on Wednesday nights in 2024 at the Jefferson Parish East Bank Regional Library on West Napoleon Ave. in Metairie as the previous announcement says.

Typically we will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, irrespective of lunar phase as there is less "impact" with moon phase and observing as we are meeting at mid-week.

There are two dates in October and November where we will not meet on the 3rd Wednesday due to a conflict with the meeting room being used for voting in Jefferson Parish. Here are the date specifics:

7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024 - 2 days after 1st quarter Moon

7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024

7 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024 - 3 days after 1st quarter Moon

7 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024 - 2 days after 1st quarter Moon

7 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024 - 1st quarter Moon

7 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2024

7 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024

7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024

7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024

7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024 (moved because Oct. 16 is not available)

7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024 (moved because Nov. 20 is not available)

7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 (probably not at the library - due to holiday party

Note - Moon phase is some months may lend itself to on-site outreach either as part of a meeting or "as the meeting". If we do that we will always have a program ready in the event that the weather is not good. (These potential "Outreach at the Library" dates will all be between January and May.

Meeting Location, Day, and Time Change.

Please note that the monthly General meeting has been changed.

Beginning January 24, 2024, All PAS monthly meetings will be held on Wednesdays nearest the Full Moon at 7:00PM at the Jefferson Paris East Bank Library 4747 West Napoleon Avenue, Metairie, LA, US, 70001. This is between Clearview and Transcontinental Blvd. Please enter the main entrance and turn immediately to the right to proceed to the meeting room.

This change was discussed and approved by the PAS Officers after discussion at the October General meeting.

The PAS has met at UNO for many years, and we are very grateful for the usage and support. However, we feel the opportunity to move to Jefferson Parish will benefit the PAS in a number of ways. We do plan to continue to utilize the Zoom Online meeting for those who cannot attend in person.

(The November 2023 meeting will still be at UNO on Friday November 17th , at 7:30PM)
