Searching for some eyepieces - have others to sell...
Author Last Post

The first generation is all smooth side, including the lower barrel. No rubber grip rings and no rubber eye cup.

I now have a complete set.

Now I'm curious if the 26mm Tele Vue Plossl I have is first generation. I purchased it new probably mid to late 80's along with a 10.5mm and a 1.8x barlow. I still have the Tele Vue brochure that I used to place the order. Not looking to get rid of it, and it is in highly used condition!

I am looking to complete a set of Tele Vue 1st generation Plossl eyepieces via purchase or trade.

The first generation eyepieces have no rubber grip rings, they are called smooth sides and the lower chrome barrel are smooth side too (no indents or bevels).

Specifically what I am looking for is the 40 mm and the 26 mm. This will be as much of a collection set as a user set (to go with the 6 others in this series that I have already). They have to be in excellent or close to excellent condition. No dents or scratches in the black anodization or marks on the optics.

I will pay a reasonable price and I also have stuff to trade, other eyepieces of greater value. So in a trade the person I am trading with comes out ahead.

Right now I do have a 9 mm Tele Vue Nagler 1st generation eyepiece. This has a hybrid barrel and will work in either a 1.25 inch diagonal or a 2 inch diagonal. Excellent condition but no box. For the two eyepieces I am looking for I will trade this eyepiece and $20.00 cash

I also have the 12 mm TeleVue Nagler Type II (second generation). It does have a rubber grip ring and 1.25"/2" diagonal barrel. Excellent condition, but no box. This one would trade even for the two eyepieces I am looking for.

I will post photos later.
