There is a total lunar eclipse visible just before sunrise on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
The Penumbral portion of the eclipse begins around 2:05AM with the Moon at Altitude 52 degrees and Azimuth 256 degrees.
The Moon enters the Umbral shadow around 3:13AM and will have dropped to Altitude 38 degrees and Azimuth 270 - due West.
Mid-Totality is around 5:05AM with the Moon only 15.5 up in Altitude and at Azimuth 280.
Totality ends around 5:45AM with the Moon at Altitude 7.3 degrees and Azimuth 285.
Finally, the Moon starts to cross the horizon at 6:21AM at Azimut 290. If the skies are clear and free of fog, it may be possible to see the Moon sink below Lake Pontchartrain.
